Guest Chef Dinner Features Seth McKee of Chateau Faire le Pont

November 1

6:00 pm

Chef Seth McKee from Chateau Faire le Pont will be preparing dinner with Culinary Arts students of Wenatchee Valley Technical Skills Chef Seth McKeeCenter (WVTSC) for the first “Chef’s Dinner” on November 1, 2017. “We’re working on an autumn menu that includes wild mushroom bruschetta with pumpkin mascarpone, a pork terrine with BBQ sauce, cauliflower soup, and a chocolate pine nut grand mariner tart,” says Culinary Arts instructor Betty Palmer. “The entree will be Cornish game hen.”

Tickets are available to the public for $35 per person.

The dinner kicks off the Chef’s Dinners events held by Culinary Arts students of the Tech Center and local chefs. The program is designed to provide the students with real world experience with a chef, and to incorporate local professionals into career and technical education programs.

“I participate because I and to try to help out young people in the career field I’m in,” says Chef Seth McKee. “It’s a way to give back and mentor people.”

This is the third year of the Guest Chef dinners. The proceeds from the ticket sales cover the food costs, and provide funding for a field trip. “The last two years of dinners got us to Seattle Central Community College’s Seattle Culinary Academy,” says Palmer. “We’ve been able to pay for students to eat a formal sit-down lunch, too,” a new experience for most of the students.

Tickets are available from the Wenatchee Valley Technical Skills Center at 662-8827.
