Foothills Teachers have Agreed to the Following Grading Practices

  1. To grade students based on standards
  2. To provide multiple opportunities for student to demonstrate their skills and knowledge Including encouraging students to re-do assignments and assessments
  3. To not give extra credit 
  4. Students can raise their grades by redoing work to demonstrate mastery of the same knowledge and skills
  5. To not punish students for behavior or work habits through their academic grades
  6. For example, late work, attendance, or academic dishonesty won’t artificially deflate grades.
  7. The above behaviors will be addressed through scores on Work Habits standards & parent communication
  8. To report academic achievement (content area standards) and work habits (behavior, citizenship, work ethic) as separate scores
  9. To use the same grading scale
