Governor Jay Inslee Visits Orchard Middle School — asks how education would look if it were fully funded by the State

Governor Jay Inslee visited Orchard Middle school on Friday, June 2nd where he met with students and teachers. He later met with parents, teachers, and district administrators at the district office. The purpose for his visit was to ask how education at Orchard and other schools in the district would look if they were fully funded by the State Legislature. He also talked about the education budget he proposed, saying it was "the high watermark," and encouraging teachers and parents to contact their legislatures to talk about fully funding education. The Governor was accompanied by his wife Trudi and sister-in-law Bonnie Yenney, a retired teacher.
