General Information: Refer to Sport Season Dates for practice start and end dates.  Practice is instruction in the four competitive strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. All athletes must be able to swim across the pool, tread water in the deep end for one minute and demonstrate the ability to jump into the deep end and navigate back to the wall safely.  Athletes unable to pass this test will not be able to participate in middle school swimming.  All athletes must take a cleansing shower before entering the pool.

Additional Information:  To participate in our swimming program your student must pass the Wenatchee School Districts Swim Test.  This consists of: a 42 ft swim (cannot be done as an underwater swim), Jump into water over head and return to the wall safely, 1 minute treading water. No latex caps are allowed in the pool. Silicone Caps can be purchased at WHS in the Athletic office for $10.

Athlete Responsibilities: Students must complete all athletic paperwork through our Online Clearance Processbefore they are allowed to practice. Athletes must provide their own swimming suit, goggles, swim cap and towel. Athletic shoes, shorts, shirt and/or sweats for dry land training are also needed.

When is practice: Practice is held at the WHS pool.  Students will be transported to the high school each day after school.  Practice ends at 5:45. After practice, pick up swimmers at the pool entrance not at the athletic entrance.  The pool entrance is on the back side of the school by the track and baseball field.

When are meets:   Team usually has 2 or 3 swimming meets. All competitions are at Wenatchee High School. The girls will arrive at practice like normal and have warm ups, the meet will start at 4pm.
