Beginning with the 2016-17 school year, kindergarten students will start their Monday mornings at the same time as the rest of the students in their buildings. Monday mornings are already late start mornings for students to allow teachers professional development opportunities and time for collaboration meetings. However, kindergarten students, in previous years, started at an even later time in the morning. With this change, kindergarten students will now have more time for more library, music, art and PE, and an increase in overall instructional time during the day. Mission View elementary is the only elementary that has not had a later start for kindergarten students, and that will remain unchanged.
This change will take effect at the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year. Please see your building’s bell schedule for school start times.
