Wenatchee School District Featured in State Professional Learning Report

Wenatchee School District was featured in a State Report one Professional Learning, and Wenatchee High School was featured on the cover. Read the Wenatchee School District section here.

“Transforming Professional Learning (WA-TPL) in Washington State: Lessons from the Field” describes the WA-TPL project through the experiences of several participating school districts with input from project partners. “The stories highlight the bright sparks of professional learning transformation at the district level, and valuable insights about “what it takes” on the road to building a truly comprehensive system of professional learning,” the report says.

Jodi Smith Payne, Assistant Superintendent of Learning and Teaching for Wenatchee School District, led the project and was featured in the report, along with Bill Eagle, Director of Special Programs.

“From the start, we built coherence into the core of every professional learning opportunity,” Jodi said. “We connect the dots by showing how each district initiative ties to the previous ones…
We weave the threads together to construct a coherent whole instead of a mishmash of ever
changing new ideas to try.”

“Change is disturbing when it is done to us. Change is exhilarating when it is done by us. The structures are in place to support me, but I am the driver of my change,” Bill Eagle was quoted in the publication.
