How to Reach or Visit Your Student at School

How do I get a message to my student?

It is very disruptive to the learning environment to interrupt classes to deliver messages, so we ask that you minimize your requests. If you must get a message to your student, please call the office at 662-7745.  Messages will only be accepted from the student’s parent/guardian and will not be delivered to class; the student will be sent an office request and the student must come to the office to retrieve the message. Only in the case of a true emergency, will the office attempt to deliver your message immediately.

How do I deliver a forgotten item to my student?

Items (books, lunches, backpacks, etc.) brought to school during the day by a parent/guardian will be held at the front desk in the office for your student. They will be sent an office request and they will report to the front desk to pick up their item.  We discourage flower or balloon deliveries.  These items will be held in the office until the end of the school day.

How do I visit the school?

Parents are welcome to visit OMS. Check in at the front desk to receive a visitor's badge. Please make an appointment if you plan on visiting a classroom or a teacher. A parent may join their student for lunch at school at any time.

How do I reach my student if there is a school-wide emergency?

Avoid calling the school because the phone lines are needed for the staff to handle the emergency. Listen to local radio for instructions from the administration. Do not remove your student from the school without checking them out at the office, so the school does not spend time searching for your student needlessly.
