This unique program brings six world-class jazz musicians to Wenatchee for a week to work with jazz band students from Wenatchee High School and Orchard, Pioneer and Foothills middle schools as well as Eastmont HS and JHS. Each professional mentors the students that play his instrument (trumpet, saxophone etc.) – teaching, demonstrating and offering individual guidance. The pros, as the LA6 sextet, give a concert Thursday evening, Feb. 2 and the students perform on Friday, Feb. 3. Both concerts are at the Numerica Performing Arts Center; tickets may be purchased at 663-ARTS. Wenatchee Jazz Workshop, a nonprofit organization now in its 17th year, is thought to be the only one of its kind in the U.S.
