Building great futures for girls in non-traditional careers.

Pizza pop and power tools is a hands-on career exploration event for 8th grade girls in the Wenatchee School District. Girls experience hands-on activities that included, welding, hammering, screw gun operation, machining, heavy equipment safety, tire rotation, fire fighting tool use and power pole climbing

The goal of the event is to help girls explore a variety of non-traditional careers for women. Through the involvement of female role models and skilled professional, students gain confidence that could lead them to enroll in a high school career and technical education class such as construction trades and welding or pursue post secondary vocational training or an apprenticeship program.
