Dr. Paul Gordon will be interviewing for the position of superintendent on February 21st. Gordon is the third of three finalists selected by the Wenatchee School Board of Directors to interview.
Dr. Gordon has been the Superintendent of Glen Ellyn School District 41 in Glen Ellyn, Illinois since 2013. He works to ensure all students are seen and know they belong to the district community through his commitment to inclusion for all. The students of Glen Ellyn are educationally prepared, globally conscious, bilingual, critical thinkers and problem-solvers who embrace challenges through inquiry- based learning. He believes learning is an active experience and students must have opportunities and access to engage in their education. His sixteen years as a school and district leader reflects that he is a strong, thoughtful academic leader who puts students at the forefront of all decisions. The relationships he builds with his board, staff, students, parents and the community are critical to the success of the districts he has served. His relationships are complemented by his in-depth knowledge of school finance, facilities, and his ability to collaborate with business, university, and governmental partners.
Before being Superintendent in Glen Ellyn, Dr. Gordon served as Chief Academic Officer to over 42,000 students—charged with overseeing curriculum and instruction, innovation, grants, professional development, student services, and strategic planning in the Adams 12 Five Star School District in Colorado. He was also a very successful school leader for seven years serving as a principal and assistant principal. As a teacher, he worked with students who were reading 2-5 years behind grade level and took great pride in their growth as readers. Dr. Gordon has a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education from Metropolitan State University, a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from the University of Phoenix, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Change from Fielding Graduate University.
He has been married to his wife Marianne for 23 years and has two children, Matthew and Gabriella.
The public is invited to meet Dr. Paul Gordon during a community forum February 21st from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. at Wenatchee High School, 1101 Millerdale Ave.
Candidates’ interviews with the school board will occur during special meetings on each of the interview days. The special meetings will commence at 6:30 p.m. dinner at the Springhill Suites 1730 N Wenatchee Ave. No formal action will take place.

Wenatchee superintendent Brian Flones announced his departure last spring and will conclude his career as the superintendent in August 2019. The 2018-19 school year will be Flones's nineteenth year as superintendent, and thirty-second year in the Wenatchee School District.
