Home Team Changing Sides at Apple Bowl Due to Bleacher Problems

 Wenatchee student and band seating is temporarily switching places with the visiting team at the Apple Bowl due to problems with the new bleachers. Wenatchee students and the Golden Apple Band will use the Recreation Park side of the bleachers, traditionally the side used by visiting teams. Wenatchee sports teams will also switch to the Rec Park side to be on the same side as their fans, while visiting teams will use the traditional “home team” side, next to Pioneer.

The switch is necessary due to bleacher problems—short sections of the bleachers collapsed recently. “We will close off the collapsed section of bleachers until they are fixed,” says Athletic Director Jim Beeson. “Parents and visiting fans will still be allowed to sit in the new section of bleachers as long as they are sitting and not standing on the bleachers and jumping up and down.”

Signs will be placed at games to help identify the new seating sections. 

 “This is a temporary move and hopefully everything can be back to normal by our home football game on October 7^th,” says Beeson.
