The district is currently facing budgetary challenges and is working to balance its revenues with expenditures. As a part of this process, we are exploring various possibilities to reduce costs, improve operational efficiency, and continue offering high-quality instruction. One of the areas we are pursuing is the implementation of a new common schedule starting in the 24-25 school year for our three middle schools. We are not looking at changing the start and end times, Monday's late start schedule, or the academic calendar, but are examining the structure of the school day.
Stakeholder Input
To gather feedback on a potential change to the middle school schedule change from our stakeholders, we are conducting a survey for students, staff, and parents. Feedback from these surveys will be reviewed and evaluated as part of the process to create the most effective common schedule at our middle schools. To assist us with this process, we are consulting with an expert outside of the district who works for the Center for Educational Effectiveness. This individual will assist us with identifying a schedule that balances research-based best practices with staff, student, and parent needs.
