YMCA Providing Childcare at Mission View

Dear Parents:

We will be working with the YMCA in providing before care, after care, full day care, and a full summer program right here at Mission View! We will be continuing to serve both Mission View and Lincoln Elementary Schools. Wenatchee School District will provide transportation in the morning and afternoon to and from Lincoln to our program. This program is now officially licensed by the state of Washington, which allows us to accept Washington State subsidy programs for families who qualify. In order to figure out if your family qualifies, please head to https://www.dcyf.wa.gov/services/earlylearning-childcare/getting-help/wccc for more information. The YMCA would also be happy to help anyone better understand the benefits of using state subsidy and what it could mean for a qualifying family. The honor of having a state licensed program also ensures that we are run at an extremely high standard, as we abide by all Washington State Administrative Codes in regards to child care in addition to best practice standards of the YMCA.

For our Mission View Student Care program, we will be running a full creative curriculum that supports education enrichment through a combination of staff directed and child or self directed activities. These activities are based within 9 learning domains: arts and crafts, language and literacy, blocks and construction, science and nature (STEAM), math and reasoning, cultural awareness, drama and theater, character development, and SPARK or active games. We will offer the opportunity for daily homework help, reading and literacy time, and STEM activities, as well as field trips during long school breaks. We will have an on site program director for this program who will be supported by state qualified staff who are all also fully cleared through federal background checks and fingerprints.

If a family is covered by WA state subsidy, they will automatically qualify for the full year plan option. If enrollment allows, we will also be offering an option for a per day rate specifically for full day care on the days off of school.

The YMCA currently runs all of Eastmont's school age programs in addition to Sunnyslope. This program model and these programs are very successful and loved and appreciated by the families they serve. We are so so excited that we now have the chance to offer these programs to Mission View and Lincoln Elementary families.  You can reach the YMCA at the following number if you have questions at 662-2109.

Sincerely

Jeff Jaeger
