Student Drop Off and Pick Up

STUDENT PICKUP AND DROP OFF EXPECTATIONS

• Be your child’s best example. Please be courteous and respectful to staff, other drivers and follow all safety guidelines at all times.
• Follow all directions from school personnel. They can see potential problems you may not.
• For the safety of all children, please refrain from cell phone use during this time.
• Please drive slowly, 5 mph, through the Loading/Unloading Zone and parking Lot.
• When entering the parking lot, please be alert and courteous in order to allow other cars to leave the upper/lower parking lot.
• During pickup after school, students will be lined up outside along the wall to the right of the school’s main entrance to allow for a quicker and smoother transition.
• Pull your car as far forward, into the Loading/Unloading Zone, as traffic allows. Keep pulling forward and fill in all gaps in Loading Zone Lane. The line backs up all the way onto Malaga/Alcoa Highway and onto Terminal.
• Once your child has entered/exited your vehicle, please exit the parking lot via the Bypass Lane to the driver’s left. The Bypass Lane is for driving only — NO pickup/drop off or stopping at any time.
• Please DO NOT use the upper center or lower parking lot to drop-off/pick-up students. This is a very dangerous area for children due to amount vehicles entering/exiting the school parking lots. Please use the designated Loading/Unloading Lane. For their safety, children are not permitted to walk from the center/lower parking lot to the school’s entrance or to awaiting cars in the center or lower parking lot without an accompanying adult.
• If you, or another adult in your vehicle, would like to come into school to accompany your student inside, volunteer or need go into the office, please park in the upper center parking lot. There is NO PARKING permitted in the Loading/Unloading Lane. If you require the use of the designated handicap spots, be sure to have your handicap placard/permit visible for staff and police officers, as required by state law.
