Boys Swimming

General Information: Practices start on Monday April 13th after school. The season runs until May 22nd. Practice is instruction in the four competitive strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. Turns and starts will also be taught. Students need to pass the three-part district approved swim test. 1) Swim unassisted across the pool without stopping or touching the pool bottom (14 meters or 42 feet). 2) Tread water in the deep end for 1 minute. 3) Jump into the deep end and swim back to the wall unassisted. The team is open to all 6th, 7th and 8th graders. 

Athlete Responsibilities: Students must complete all athletic paperwork through our Online Clearance Process before they are allowed to practice. Athletes must provide their own swimming suit, goggles, swim cap and towel. Athletic shoes, shorts, shirt and/or sweats for dry land training are also needed. 8 practices are required before athlete can compete in a meet. Student-Athletes must be passing all classes to compete in league and in-district games.  

When is practice: Teams usually practice daily 3:15 to 4:15 or 5:15pm at Wenatchee High School. The Gold group pickup is at 4:30pm, Purple group pickup is at 5:30pm. Students will be assigned a group the first week of practice based on their skill level.

When are games: Team usually has 2 or 3 swimming meets. All competitions are at Wenatchee High School.

Transportation: Buses will take students to all practices and meets at Wenatchee High School. Parents are responsible to pickup students after competitions or practices at Wenatchee High School at 4:30 or 5:30pm depending on the group they are assigned to.

Team Pictures: Team pictures are TBD for all grade levels at the WHS Pool. Information will be given to students the week of pictures.
