General Information: Practices can start on Monday August 26th, practice schedule to be posted online. The season runs until Oct. 25th. 6th grade football starts on Tue. Sept. 3th and runs until Oct. 13th. Teams are formed on a grade level basis.

Athlete Responsibilities: Students must complete all athletic paperwork before they will be allowed to practice. Athletes must provide their own athletic shoes/cleats. 12 practices are required before the athlete can compete in a game. Student-Athletes must be passing all classes (no F letter grades) to compete in league and in-district games.

When is practice: 7th/8th Teams usually practice daily 3:00-5:00 pm. at Pioneer. 6th grade will practice four days a week from 3:15 to 4:30 pm after school at Columbia Elementary, Monday through Thursday.

When are games: Team usually have 6 league contests depending on level. Game days vary depending on level. 7th and 8th grade will play on Wednesdays or Thursdays starting at 5 PM and 6:45 PM. 6th grade will have two Jamborees at the end of the season.

Transportation: Buses will take students to all off site practices and games. Parents are responsible to pick up students after competitions or practices that take place within the Wenatchee School District. Buses will return students to Pioneer from out of district games.

6th Flag Football Info: Practices are Monday-Thursday from 3:15-4:30. Athletes are expected to be changed into practice clothes and meet in the courtyard between the gym and cafeteria at 3:15 pm. We will walk as a team to Columbia Elementary, following the Coach’s planned route and will return to Pioneer at 4:30 pm. Please plan on picking your child up at Pioneer at 4:30 pm, unless your child walks or rides their bike.

Acceptable practice clothes include: shorts, t-shirt, and tennis shoes. Your child will be issued the following uniform pieces of equipment: jersey, belt and flags, and possibly game shorts. School-issued uniform pieces are expected to be taken care of and are the sole responsibility of the athlete. Due to the short length of our season, it is not expected that your child will have football cleats. However, they are optional.

Also note, there are no return busses from our jamborees. Since the 6th graders only compete in-distirct, Wenatchee School District expects parents to pick up their student-athletes at the location of the competition.
