Volleyball
General Information: Practices start the first day of school on Tuesday August 27th after school. The season runs until Oct. 20th. 6th grade volleyball starts on Tue. Sept. 3rd and runs until Oct. 13th. Teams are formed on a grade level basis.
Athlete Responsibilities: Students must complete all athletic paperwork before they will be allowed to practice. Volleyball girls need modest T-shirts and shorts and gym shoes for practice (no tank tops). Knee pads are recommended but not required. For games we only provide the jersey, the girls provide their own spandex volleyball shorts. 8 practices are required before the athlete can compete in a game. Student-Athletes must be passing all classes (no F letter grades) to compete in league and in-district games.
When is practice: Teams usually practice daily 3:00-5:00 pm. at Pioneer. 6th grade will practice four days a week from 6:45 to 7:45 am before school at Pioneer Tue. through Fri.
When are games: Team usually has 8-10 league contests depending on level. Game days vary depending on level. 7th and 8th grade will play on Mondays and Wednesdays starting at 4:00 PM. 6th grade will have two Jamborees at the end of the season.
Transportation: Buses will take students to all off site practices and games. Parents are responsible to pick up students after competitions or practices that take place within the Wenatchee School District. Buses will return students to Pioneers from out of district games.
