Wenatchee High School has officially entered the national Friday Night 5G Lights competition presented by T-Mobile - a high-stakes, high-spirit contest designed to spotlight small-town pride and high school football spirit across the country.
The contest could bring major upgrades to Wenatchee's home field, including a $25,000 grant and the chance to win the ultimate $1 million homefield makeover, including enhanced facilities, upgraded equipment, and a stadium experience designed by national pros - all powered by T-Mobile.
"This is more than a contest. It's a chance to showcase what makes Wenatchee special - our students, our fans, and our incredible community," said Kristi DeLozier, Director of Fundraising for Wenatchee Booster Club. "We're all in, and we're ready to bring this win home."
How the Community Can Help Wenatchee Win
From now through September 12, community members are encouraged to show their support by posting on social media and rallying behind the Panthers. Every post with the hashtags #FN5GL and #Sweepstakes, and tags to @TMobile and @WenatcheeAthletics counts as an entry toward $5,000 weekly prizes - and boosts Wenatchee's shot at the finalist round.
Tips to help:
- Post photos or videos showing Panther pride: game days, pep rallies, band, cheerleaders, students, fans
- Add the hashtags: #FN5GL and #Sweepstakes
- Tag @TMobile and @WenatcheeAthletics
- Encourage others to do the same - families, businesses, alumni!
The top 25 finalist schools will be announced in late September, with community voting to follow. The grand prize winner will be announced October 30, 2025.

Launched by T-Mobile, Friday Night 5G Lights is a nationwide contest created to uplift small-town schools through investment, connectivity, and community celebration. Since 2021, the program has invested millions in local schools, including 6 winners in Eastern Washington last year alone.
