Wenatchee Jazz Workshop

The Wenatchee Jazz Workshop is returning February 5 - 9th, with workshops for students during the day and performances at the Performing Arts Center in the evening. The workshop culminates in Jazznights, two public concerts at the Numerica Performing Arts Center: Thursday, Feb. 8 featuring the pros, and Friday, Feb. 9 featuring the students. This unique program brings six world-class jazz musicians to Wenatchee for a week to work with jazz band students from Wenatchee High School and Orchard, Pioneer and Foothills middle schools as well as Eastmont HS and JHS. Each professional mentors the students that play his instrument (trumpet, saxophone etc.) – teaching, demonstrating and offering individual guidance. Tickets at 663-ARTS. The Wenatchee Jazz Workshop, a nonprofit organization now in its 18th year, is thought to be the only one of its kind in the U.S.
