Public Comment Guidelines

The board recognizes the value of public comment on educational issues and the importance of involving members of the public in its meetings. In order to permit fair and orderly expression of public comment, with the exception of emergency situations, the board will provide a period for public comment during every regular meeting. During the public comment period, visitors may address the board on any topic within the scope of the board’s responsibility.

The board is not obligated to respond to questions or challenges made during the public comment period and the board’s silence will not signal agreement or endorsement of the speaker’s remarks.  Public comment time will be limited to 3 minutes per person.

If you would like to make a public comment REMOTELY or receive spanish translation services for your public comment:  Please complete and submit our meeting registration form to register for the meeting no later than 15 minutes prior to the start of the meeting. The meeting registration form is at the top of the agenda for each meeting and you can access it with the calendar tool below.

If you would like to attend the meeting IN PERSON and make a public comment:  Completion of the meeting registration form is optional but preferred.  Please submit the form no later than 15 minutes prior to the start of the meeting.
