Foothills Teachers have Agreed to the Following Grading Practices
- To grade students based on standards
- To provide multiple opportunities for student to demonstrate their skills and knowledge Including encouraging students to re-do assignments and assessments
- To not give extra credit
- Students can raise their grades by redoing work to demonstrate mastery of the same knowledge and skills
- To not punish students for behavior or work habits through their academic grades
- For example, late work, attendance, or academic dishonesty won’t artificially deflate grades.
- The above behaviors will be addressed through scores on Work Habits standards & parent communication
- To report academic achievement (content area standards) and work habits (behavior, citizenship, work ethic) as separate scores
- To use the same grading scale
