Lifeline Helps Middle Schoolers Discover Life-Saving Careers

On February 28, the Lifeline Ambulance team visited Pioneer, Orchard, and Foothills Middle Schools to provide students with hands-on experience in emergency medical services as a potential career path.

The middle school's CTE coordinator, Beth Hammerberg, praised the Lifeline team, saying that Brandon, Bridgett, and Evelyn were incredible. They demonstrated their daily duties, and students were able to try two-person CPR, take vitals, look through emergency medical kits, and assess emergency situations. A student even volunteered to be fastened to a backboard for the demonstration.

The students were highly engaged during the demonstration and asked great questions. It's exciting to see that many students are now interested in signing up for the high school's EMT course and other Health Occupations courses.

The middle school's Career and Technical Education program provides students with opportunities to explore their interests and develop valuable employability skills as they prepare for high school.
