Melanie Wallace
MSN-Ed., RN, NCSN
I am Melanie Wallace, MSN-ed., RN, NCSN, school nurse at Abraham Lincoln Elementary and 1:1 nurse at Castlerock Preschool. I grew up in Seattle, close to the airport. I always knew that I either wanted to be a nurse or a teacher – I was both when I taught my classes of stuffed animals! From high school, I first went to Highline Community College and received my RN in 1995. I then went to the University of Washington Bothell and earned my Baccalaureate in Nursing in 1997. The first part of my nursing career was spent as an endocrine/diabetes specialist nurse. In 2005, I had the opportunity to begin school nursing at Quincy Schools. That is when I realized my true passion-to use my medical knowledge to help school children and families. I earned my Master’s in Nursing Education in April 2021. I have National Board Certification in school nursing (NCSN). My husband James also works for the district, as the auditorium director and theatre tech instructor at the high school.
