Valley Academy of Learning

Serving Area Families Since 1997

Valley Academy is a Wenatchee School District, family-friendly, alternative learning experience (ALE) school, serving students in kindergarten through grade eight. We commit to inspire students with an enthusiasm for learning and support families by providing a unique variety of quality educational opportunities in a safe environment. The school offers an on-site learning program. Approximately 180 students attend as either fully funded ALE students or as part-time home-based instruction (HBI) students. There is a significant parental presence on campus. Valley Academy has recently been designated an OSPI School of Distinction.

Valley Academy began in the Fall of 1997 and was housed for three years in the Ballard Building on N. Wenatchee Ave. For the next five years, the school moved to the former Presbyterian Church on Chelan Ave. Since then we have been located at 1911 N. Wenatchee Ave. Valley Academy is proud of the work we have put in and the success we have enjoyed.

Valley Academy students have made gains in reading, writing, and science test results over the last few years. Many students access the Skills Center and the Running Start program at Wenatchee Valley College after they leave Valley Academy and some enter area high schools. Typically these students experience success in their coursework and come back to share their appreciation for what they learned here. School climate surveys have indicated that students, staff, and parents felt very safe on campus.

We look forward to continuing to make a difference in the lives of children and their families.
