Clovis and Plateau People - Third, Fourth, and Fifth Grade Field Trip to the Wenatchee Museum

Dear 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders,
A new date has been scheduled for our field trip to the museum!  Here is the updated information.


Have you ever seen a Clovis spear point in real life?  Now is your chance!  Join us in a field trip to the Wenatchee Valley Museum.  We will get to see five of the original Clovis pieces that were discovered in an East Wenatchee orchard and are over 11,000 years old!   We will also get to see exhibits related to the Native Americans of the Columbia Plateau and make pine needle pendants using the same coiling technique that Plateau People used in their basket-weaving. 

Here are the details:
What: Clovis and Plateau People    
When: FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 1
Time: 12:45-3:00
Where: Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center 
Transportation: Parents will drop kids off and pick them up at the museum 
no fee

How to enroll:  In order to sign up, go on WINGS and search for "field trips" under "type of class."  Find "Clovis and Plateau People" and click on the green plus sign to enroll your student.  When you come to school, bring a completed parent permission form and put it in my teacher box before 3:30 Thursday, January 24.  I need to give our school nurse a class list one week before our trip, so that is why we have the January 24 deadline.  Also note that we need at least 8 students signed up to make this trip possible.  After you sign up I will email you with more details.

Parents are welcome to come but they are not required to attend.  (Note that the school district asks that younger siblings stay home.) Send me an email to let me know if you plan to stay.
