About John Newbery Elementary School
Welcome to John Newbery Elementary!
John Newbery Elementary is a TK-5 school in the Wenatchee School District, located on the west side of the beautiful city of Wenatchee, near the foothills of the Cascade Mountain range. Each year, the Home of the Jaguars educates over 400 students, ages 4-12. Our dedicated staff works tirelessly to provide engaging learning opportunities and exciting educational experiences that inspire curiosity and growth.
We believe school should be a safe, welcoming place where every student feels valued—socially, emotionally, and physically. Through collaboration and a strong sense of community, we ensure all learners have the support they need to thrive.
We are also proud to share a special connection with our principal, Mr. Yañez, a former John Newbery Jaguar himself! His firsthand experience as a student here fuels his passion for inspiring and guiding our students today.
Our incredible PTA plays a vital role in supporting our students, staff, and families by sponsoring enriching educational and family events. Click the link to learn more, sign up, or donate to help make a difference!
We invite you to visit our school or follow us on social media to see all the great things happening at John Newbery. If you ever need assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact our office.
