Kevin Loomis, principal at John Newbery Elementary School, was nominated for Washington State Regional Distinguished Principal. The nomination puts Mr. Loomis in the running to be the recipient of the award, which is given by the National Association of Elementary School Principals.
The nomination acknowledges the principal’s hard work, and also the work of the entire school community in ensuring that every child receives a great education.
Nominations were collected within each ESD region, and a panel of Washington principals reviewed the nominations. Mr. Loomis was one of 18 elementary principals in the state to receive this nomination. He’s been a principal at Newbery since 2012.
Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning Jodi Smith Payne presented Mr. Loomis with the nomination certificate in front of his staff on Wednesday, March 9, 2016.
