WestSide Renews Accreditation Status

WestSide Renews Accreditation Status

WestSide High School is pleased to announce the renewal of its accreditation status from the Cognia Global Commission. This renewal signifies that WestSide has met the criteria for educational quality set forth by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement, the Northwest Accreditation Commission, and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement.

Cognia Accreditation is highly regarded worldwide, providing an independent mark of quality in over 90 countries. The accreditation process involves a combination of self-assessment and independent third-party evaluation, strengthening the credibility that the Cognia Accreditation seal brings to a student’s transcript and diploma.

“The Wenatchee School District is extremely proud of the exceptional alternative learning instruction provided by WestSide staff in their distinctive and thriving school environment. It comes as no surprise that they have renewed their accreditation with the prestigious organization Cognia,” said Wenatchee Superintendent Dr. Kory Kalahar.

Over the past nine months, the WestSide Learning Improvement Team has dedicated significant time to gathering and analyzing data according to Cognia's 30 standards. This thorough process included preparing for the April 10th Accreditation Engagement Review, which involved student, family, and staff focus groups sharing about WestSide's philosophies, programs, and supports.

The entire WestSide community is proud of this renewal and looks forward to continuing to provide high-quality education that meets Cognia's rigorous standards.
