Equivalency Credits Available at WVTSC

In addition to elective CTE credits, a student can receive some academic credits that are embedded into some of the programs offered at the Tech Center.  Contact the counselor at your high school to discuss taking advantage of this option.

Tech Prep & Equivalency Credits for 2023-24

There are some restrictions that apply to credits:

1. They are all seat-time based, so if a student starts at the Tech Center later than 10 school days into the school year/semester, they will not qualify to receive the equivalency credits.  
2. Some equivalency credits are awarded at the end of each semester and others are only awarded at the end of the entire school year.
3. The maximum number of elective high school CTE credits available to a student are 2.0 per semester.  If a student's high school counselor designates that a student needs the academic equivalency credits, the credits for the equivalency credit will be subtracted from the CTE credits, so that the total awarded remains at 2.0 credits per semester.
