National Principals Month
October is National Principals Month, and I am excited to take this opportunity to recognize our amazing principals for their vision, leadership, and dedication to providing all our students with access to a high-quality education.
Our principals are critical to advancing our district and supporting the needs of our students and educators in their pursuit of improving student outcomes. They recognize that each student comes to us with unique lived experiences and is in need of individualized attention.
They have embraced the challenges and opportunities of this school year and our bold plan to support learning recovery for every one of our students. Every day, they lead our teachers and support staff to fulfill our commitments to our students.
We recognize principals this month because too often their role in education is not seen or celebrated. But at WSD our principals know and greet their students by name, setting an example for how we can more deeply relate to our learners, and to each other, this year and going forward. Relationships are fundamental for all of us, and an essential step in our learning recovery road map, which will help ensure our students’ academic and social-emotional recovery.
Throughout this month, and after, please join me in reflecting on the contributions that our principals have made, and continue to make, in support of the whole student, and express your gratitude for all they do.
Sincerely,
Paul Gordon
Superintendent
