The Busload of Books Tour is a yearlong project to promote literacy and raise awareness of the challenges facing our nation’s public schools. Author/illustrator duo Matthew Swanson and Robbi Behr and their four kids are  traveling the country in a school bus/tiny home, visiting Title I schools in all 50 states (plus DC), and giving away 25,000 hardcover books to students and teachers from underserved communities.

Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is 4-year-old children and offers a high-quality early learning experience to students with an unmet need that otherwise do not have access to early learning opportunities prior to kindergarten. We offer TK programs at Columbia Elementary and Mission View Elementary.

We ensure that every student is actively engaged in pursuing excellence. Our culturally diverse student population creates a powerful and unique learning environment in developing world class citizens. We are here to serve all who come through our doors.

Over the next five years, WSD will support students as they work to achieve the "Big 6" learning outcomes, fulfill their potential, and graduate— ready to pursue vocational training, college, or a career.
