Boys Swimming

General Information: Practice is instruction in the four competitive strokes-freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly.  Turns and starts will also be taught.  Students need to pass the three-part district approved swim test.   1.) Swim unassisted across the pool without stopping or touching the pool bottom (14 meters or 42 feet).   2.) tread water in the deep end for 1 minute, and   3.) jump into the deep end and swim back to the wall unassisted.  The team is open to all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.

Athlete Responsibilities: Students must complete all athletic paperwork before they will be allowed to practice.  Athletes must provide their own swimming suit, goggles, swim cap, and towel.  8 practices are required before the athlete can compete in a meet.  Students must be passing five of seven classes to compete in meets.

When is practice: Teams usually practice daily 3:20-5:00 pm. at Wenatchee H.S.

When are games: Team usually has 2 or 3 swimming meets.  All competitions are at Wenatchee H.S.

Transportation: Buses will take students to all practices at Wenatchee H.S.  Parents are responsible to pick up students after competitions or practices at Wenatchee H.S. at 5 pm.

Team Pictures: Team pictures are after school.  Information will be given to students the week of pictures.
