WHS Students Participate at the Washington State FCCLA All Virtual Competition and Leadership Conference

The Washington State FCCLA organization held an all virtual competition and leadership conference this past week. WHS FCCLA Club Advisor, Cori Montgomery had 5 students attend the state leadership conference, which was much smaller than typical but she was so glad students were able to have the opportunity to participate this year.

Although WHS had no competitors, they did have 4 students evaluate competitive events. The students judged projects by reviewing project materials and a pre-recorded presentation for their event and ultimately decided which projects moved on to National Competition in June. Below is a list of the following student evaluators with the competitive event they judged.

Denali Rojas - Professional Presentation (Levels 1, 2, 3)

Joshua Anson Jones - Public Policy Advocate, Sustainability Challenge

Milo Adams - Career Investigation (Levels 1, 2, 3), Voting Delegate for SLC

Alexa Leddy - Interpersonal Communications, Job Interview

Elizabeth Brazeau ended her year-long term as a Washington State Officer serving as the Region 6 Vice President. Montgomery said, "Liz did a fantastic job supporting Region 6 and we are so grateful for her leadership."

Last but certainly not least, Alexa Leddy was installed as the new Washington State At-Large Officer for Region 6 serving as the state's Vice President of Membership.  Montgomery said, "This is a BIG role and Alexa is going to be an amazing leader representing WHS and we can't wait to see all she accomplishes during her term." Please congratulate Alexa on her new leadership position!"

Reflecting on the year, Ms. Montgomery stated, "I am so proud of these students. They have been active and have stayed committed to FCCLA even though many are involved in other activities as well. It has been a great year for FCCLA and we hope next year is even better"
