Christopher Hockett, HWC Supervisor
Wenatchee High School staff are there to support students every step of the way and are partners in their education. The WHS Homework Center (HWC) helps students succeed by offering personalized schoolwork support and tutoring services. Located in the WHS Library, students have access to a quiet environment with resources, computers, books, and tutors.
Christopher Hockett, the WHS Homework Center Supervisor, reports that since HWC opened, over 1240 individual check-ins have occurred from 430 different users. If the trend continues, the center is on track to set a new record. “I am so blessed to be able to provide this well-needed service year after year to the students of WHS. I am pleased to have grown this program, even with changes and adjustments; along the way,” said Hockett in an email to staff celebrating this milestone.
The HWC recently expanded tutoring services through a partnership with the WHS Math Honor Society to have some peer tutoring. Manuel Garibay was selected as the first Honor Society peer tutor.
The HWC is open to all WHS students Monday-Thursday, 3:30-5:00 pm. For more information on the HWC, visit their website.
