DECA students earn state titles and qualify for international competition

Last weekend WHS had 25 students competing in the DECA State Career Development Conference in Bellevue. This was a record year for attendance, with over 4,310 attendees.

Wenatchee had 3 state champions, including first-year competitor Jack Clark in Principles of Marketing. Matthew Jobe and Jason Newman were state champs in the Buying and Merchandising Team Decision-Making event. 

They will go on to represent Washington State at the International Career Development Conference in Orlando, FL, in April along with Daeja Carlson, Gwen Dolge, Grant Hirsch, Michael McPherson, Benjamin Payen, Joey Slesk, Joel Rodriguez, and Cadel Velazquez, who will be competing in the School-Based Enterprise events and Emerging Leader Academy.
