WHS Random Acts of Kindness Partners with Kindness Counts NCW to Raise Funds for WHS and Senior Center

On November 4, over 120 people turned out to enjoy music, refreshments, and positivity in the WHS Commons. The entertainment, provided by the Gladsong choir, helped to raise $2,200 dollars for the Wenatchee High School Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) Club and the Wenatchee Valley Senior Activity Center. RAK and the Senior Center split the funds evenly. Gladsong is a contemporary choir performing benefit concerts throughout NCW, describing their mission as “Encourage the singer, Inspire the listener, and Benefit the community.” And benefit they did – the New Commons swelled with hopeful music and dancing.

The event, organized by RAK and Kindness Counts NCW, supported both the Warm Head, Hands, and Feet and Pather House. Both of these programs provide access to basic necessities, like warm clothes and food, to families who could not otherwise afford them. Panther House benefits the families of WHS students, and RAK coordinator Chris Hockett says donations for Warm Head, Hands, and Feet will be distributed to the Women’s Resource Center to support their Bruce Transitional Program.

We appreciate all the work by the Kindness Counts NCW team and for their partnership in coordinating this event -- making our community a kinder place to live, learn, and grow. We want to warmly thank each and every member of our community who supported the fundraiser and helped make the holiday season a little brighter for Wenatchee families.

The Warm Head, Hands, and Feet Drive is accepting donations through December 1st. Contact RAK coordinator Chris Hockett with any questions at hockett.c@wenatcheeschools.org. For more ways to spread positivity in our local community, check out the Kindness Counts NCW website and Facebook page.
