Wenatchee and Eastmont Students Raise Over $13,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation

Students pose with Litter Box trophy

Thanks to a successful fundraiser and a student section decked out in cheering fans and Panther-colored streamers, WHS brought the Litter Box trophy back to its side of the river. Wenatchee and Eastmont High Schools raised over $13,400 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation earlier this month as a part of our annual, week-long Litter Box fundraiser – a new record!

Litter Box is an annual fundraising campaign where students from WHS and EHS compete on money raised, on spirit, and on the court. After the one week fundraising campaign, WHS had raised $7,375.04 and EHS had raised over $6,100 to support this year’s beneficiary, Johnny, a WHS sophomore battling cancer. Johnny was also selected as the beneficiary for February’s Janice Franz Talent Show. All funds raised by the show will go toward his treatment.

Wenatchee students pulled out all the stops to fundraise for this years games. One of the highlights took place at the pep assembly, where Coach Devereaux received a pie to the face by his son, Kade Devereaux. Throughout the week, students submitted their Make-A-Wish donations to vote on which staff member would take the hit.

We would like to thank everyone who donated and supported our WHS Athletics teams in their games against Eastmont during Litter Box week. You help WHS do great things!
