The WHS Mock Trial team participated in state at the Pierce County Courthouse in Tacoma last weekend, where the varsity team placed 10th and JV placed 13th out of 26 teams at the state contest and over 70 teams statewide!
Congratulations to Lizzie Pittsinger and James Koepke, who tied with 4 other students for the Outstanding Witness award. Lizzie was also awarded the senior scholarship from the Inns of Court organization and will receive $2,500 toward higher education.
Mock Trial competitions give students experience in legal proceedings, public speaking, and more and are overseen by volunteer attorneys across the state.
