Wenatchee FFA Visits WA State Capitol

Student voices make an impact!

The Wenatchee FFA Agriculture Issues team traveled to the Washington State Capitol in Olympia to advocate for solutions to the growing shortage of livestock veterinarians in rural Washington. During their visit, students met with our District 12 legislators and had the opportunity to present their Ag Issues portfolio to representatives from the Washington Farm Bureau.

This experience allowed students to engage directly with agricultural leaders and practice communicating real-world policy concerns affecting the industry while using their voices to advocate for the future of agriculture in Washington.

Great work to our FFA upperclassmen who participated, and thank you to the legislators for having us.

From left to right in the House Chamber: Senator Keith Goehner, Representative Mike Steele, Ruby Perdomo (12), Natalie Smeller (11), Dalylah Mukai (11), Madalyn Moore (11), Lindsay Sutton (12), Penelope Moore (11), and Representative Brian Burnett.
