Students who received their CNA credentials during the 25/26 school year.
Wenatchee High School CTE students in the Allied Health program recently completed their certification exams, and for the first time, six students graduated as certified phlebotomists and Certified Clinical Medical Assistants (CCMAs).
These students have just completed WHS’ Medical Assistant (MA) courses, a two-year program taught by industry professionals that lets students experience what a career in healthcare really looks like. In order to become certified and complete the course, each MA student completed a 160 hour practicum with clinics across the Wenatchee valley, with some receiving job offers after graduation.
These graduates aren’t the only students receiving industry certifications; several WHS students are finishing this school year as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) ready to enter the workforce. This year, WHS offered CNA skills testing for students onsite, and every student who took the exam passed.
Community partners, like Confluence Health, make career exploration opportunities like this possible for Wenatchee students. Confluence Health has been a continued supporter of Wenatchee CTE programs. Their leadership and staff have demonstrated exceptional generosity, providing the time, expertise, and equipment necessary to support our Medical Occupations students. These contributions have been vital to our program's success and our students' individual achievements.
Students interested in taking the WHS Medical Assistant course or receiving industry certifications can contact an Accelerated Pathways Counselor to learn more about current course offerings or Medical Occupations Program Coordinator Tracey Kasnic.
