Testing Information - Spring 2024

Sophomores will begin taking the English Language Arts and Math state tests on April 30th. The Smarter Balance Tests aims to measure students' achievements and growth toward college and career readiness benchmarks. Students scoring above a 3 on these tests will meet their graduation pathway requirement, showing they are ready for post-secondary education. Additionally, credit-deficient students can earn back needed credits by meeting the cut scores in English and Math.

Students need to make sure they are ready to test and on time. They should be well rested and have eaten breakfast before arriving at school. Each test will run for two days. We will have your testing room location posted along the halls on the day of testing. Look for your student ID number, to find the room you are testing in.

Students who do not pass the Smarter Balance Tests will need to meet with their high school counselor to ensure their graduation pathway requirement is met in an alternative way.

These testing dates will have a modified schedule:

English Language Arts - Tuesday, April 30th & Wednesday, May 1st
Math - Tuesday, May 14th & Wednesday, May 15th

This modified schedule will also occur on May 21st. Freshmen will have the opportunity to take the IAB. Juniors are also able to take the WCAS on that day, which measures proficiency in science.
