Anthony Muhammad, Ph.D is in Wenatchee School District for two days working with teachers, staff, and administrators in improving student success through high performing Professional Learning Communities.

One of the most sought after educational consultants in North America, Dr. Muhammad has served as a middle school teacher, assistant principal, middle school principal and high school principal. This award winning practitioner’s most notable accomplishment came as principal at Levey Middle School in Southfield Michigan, a National School of Excellence. Under his leadership, student proficiency on state assessments more than doubled in five years, and Dr. Muhammad was named Michigan Middle School Principal of the Year in 2005.

He is the author of the book “Transforming School Culture: How to End Staff Division” (2009) and a contributing author to the book “the Collaborative Administrator: Working Together as a Professional Learning Community” (2008).

Dr. Muhammad is working with the Wenatchee staff on research based practices that are intentionally employed in successful Professional Learning Communities. Staff collaborates with a shift from a focus on teaching to a focus on student learning. Participating in a Professional Learning Community enables educators to identify effective teaching practices that maximize student success.
