Happy Teacher Appreciation Week - Special Message from the WSD Cabinet Team

WSD Teachers,

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!

Every one of you, regardless of your building, subject, or grade, has the same goal— to help students achieve their full potential. Our district is home to thousands of students from preschool through high school all preparing for their futures. Teachers in classrooms represent the starting point of our student's academic and career journeys and we know a strong education is the key to unlocking opportunities. That is the reason why you are here and why you chose to be an educator. For you, it has been and always will be all about the students.

You have dedicated your time and energy to becoming experts at reaching and teaching students. Both through formal education and professional development and also through your life experiences. You live and work in this community and are committed to seeing our children thrive.

Even when the world was changing around us, you provided a steady, supportive foundation for our students and families. Through it all, you’ve changed too, learning new ways to teach and connect. You understand the powerful role you play in the lives of children and that our collective efficacy is a superpower for changing student academic outcomes. Through collaboration, you’ve developed opportunities to partner with and learn from each other.

Students come to your classrooms with different lived experiences, starting points, and needs. You embrace each of them and create spaces where they are seen, valued, and know they belong. You believe that every student has limitless potential and deserves an education that will help them achieve their academic and career goals.

Together, with our students and support staff, you represent the diversity and richness of Wenatchee through your skill sets and backgrounds. You push us to drive progress forward by continuing what’s working and changing what isn’t.

Despite the last two years being the most challenging period of time in modern education history, you accomplished so much. Instead of pausing, you leaned into the work with grit and determination. We have much gratitude for your momentum and unwavering commitment to nurturing young minds, cultivating them with care and compassion.

We see and appreciate your dedication to students and we know you work hard to help each student succeed. Thank you!
