Castle Rock Early Learning Center now boasts two certified Learning Experiences: Alternatives for Preschoolers and Parents (LEAP) instructors, making it the only LEAP-certified site in North Central Washington. The preschool program at Castle Rock provides a unique opportunity for all students to learn together in an inclusive environment.
During a celebratory event at the North Central Educational Services District, Wendy Graves was recertified, and Jeseela Houston received her certification. Their achievement is truly remarkable as they both reached LEAP fidelity in just one year, a process that typically takes two or more.
Houston’s dedication is evident in the impressive score of 95% fidelity her and her team achieved on LEAP Quality Program Indicators. “We are a solid team and that is so important in this process," said Houston. “It's been incredible to dive deeper to meet the needs of all our students.”
LEAP Preschool is one of the longest-running early childhood programs in the country. It reflects both a behavioral and a developmentally appropriate approach for teaching children with and without disabilities within an inclusive early childhood environment.
