The Wenatchee School District is asking voters to consider an Educational Programs and Operations Levy on the February 11, 2025, Special Election ballot. If approved, the measure will replace the EP&O levy, which is set to expire in December 2025.
Any entity that is proposing a levy or bond measure to the voters must ask for volunteers to serve on the "pro" and "con" committees and then appoint up to three members for each committee. The two committees are responsible for preparing the statements in favor of and in opposition to the ballot measure. Each committee can consist of three individuals whose names will be printed with the statement. Each committee must also designate a spokesperson to communicate with Chelan County Elections about the materials for the voters’ pamphlet.
For further details, refer to the Chelan County Jurisdiction Manual or the Chelan County Local Voters Pamphlet Packet. For more detailed information, consult the Chelan County Jurisdiction Manual at elections.chelancountywa.gov or contact the Elections Office at 509-667-6808 or elections@co.chelan.wa.us.
If you are interested in serving on either the pro or the con committee for the district’s February levy measure, please apply by Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at 5:00 PM. Please include your name, address, email, and phone number, as well as a brief statement about why you would like to serve on one of the committees. Email the information to the Wenatchee School District Board of Directors President, Julie Norton (norton.julie@wenatcheeschools.org) and Superintendent, Kory Kalahar (kalahar.k@wenatcheeschools.org).
