Wenatchee School District was named Best in State for “writing" by the Washington School Public Relations Association at their annual conference in Leavenworth on April 26, 2018.

Teri Fink, Communications Officer for the district, won the award for writing about the Tech Ninja program, a student volunteer program for technology under the leadership of teacher/technology facilitator Ray Birks.
The district also took an Excellence award for print publications, for its Inside Wenatchee Schools newsletter. The district competes in the category for school districts with enrollment under 10,000.
Other recent WSPRA awards for Wenatchee include Best in State in 2017 Video for a film on the Tech Ninja program; Best in State in 2016 for print publications, Inside Wenatchee Schools; and Excellence award for photography in 2016.
