WHS sports medicine students first in the nation for case study accepted by national athletic trainers symposium

Dale Blair, WHA Sports Medicine Instructor and Head Athletic Trainer

Lindsay Blakney, Nick Duke, Elyse Long, and Anna Russ, all 4th-year seniors in the Wenatchee High School Sports Medicine Program, have been honored with the acceptance of their case study for presentation at the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) National Clinical Symposium on June 28-July 1 in Philadelphia, PA. They are the only high school students in the nation to have a case study accepted for this prestigious conference.

Their case study entitled, “Post-COVID ‘Long-Haulers’ Syndrome in a Female Recreational Athlete”  follows the case of a young woman dealing with the aftereffects of contracting COVID. Their case study competed in a blind review with those submitted by masters and doctoral students as well as university professors.

Additionally, WHS Sports Medicine Instructor and Head Athletic Trainer, Dale Blair was selected to give a featured lecture at the NATA National Clinical Symposium.  His presentation, ‘CX for the AT: Customer (Patient) Experience Touchpoints to Transform Your Athletic Training Practice’, is designed to help athletic trainers provide the best possible care for their patients.

The NATA Symposium is the major national professional development conference for athletic trainers with over 10,000  sports medicine practitioners in attendance.
