Become a Mentor: Wenatchee High School Mentor Program Information @ Pybus

August 20

9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Mentors Invited for the Wenatchee High School Mentor Program:
Learn more at Pybus Market, Saturday August 20 from 9am to 3pm

Volunteers are needed for the Mentor Program at Wenatchee High School. Program Coordinator Angela Prater will be at Pybus Market on Saturday, August 20, 9am to 3pm, to share information.

The College Mentor Program supports low-income seniors who are the first in their family to go to college or any postsecondary education, including professional/technical certificates and academic degrees. Students are matched with community volunteer “mentors” who walk them through the college and scholarship search, selection, application and decision-making processes.

College Mentor Nights during the year are Tuesdays from 6-8pm, in the WHS Library, beginning Sept. 13, 2016. Students and mentors meet weekly, and workshops are held throughout the year for students, parents and mentors on topics like financial aid, scholarship applications and college success.

Wenatchee High School’s College Mentor Program is a community partnership success story.  Volunteer-run since its inception in 2003, the program has demonstrated consistent success, particularly with low-income Hispanic students.
