Fee Reduction Program

The Wenatchee School District is pleased to offer a fee reduction program for extracurricular activities, including school-based athletic programs and other optional noncredit school clubs/events.  The purpose of this program is to encourage participation and eliminate barriers that may prevent students from involvement in these valuable enrichment activities, especially for students who are low-income.

In 2020 the state legislature passed House Bill 1660 which directs school districts to take steps for creating equitable access to extracurricular opportunities that improve academic, social, and emotional outcomes and addressing barriers to extracurricular activities, such as ASB fees. 

Who qualifies for the fee reduction program?
Any Wenatchee School District student whose family qualifies for free and reduced meals or is College Bound Scholarship eligible.  All members of the household listed on the Family Income Survey will qualify for reduced admission prices to their student’s school’s extracurricular events.

What fees are waived/reduced?
ASB Cards, Athletic participation, Club participation, dance tickets, camp costs, event entrance fees, etc.  A complete list of eligible fees is available on the student fee reduction program is available here.

How do I apply?
To qualify for the fee reduction program, parents and/or guardians must complete an eligibility form and consent to share form.  The documents must be returned to your students' school.  Only one set of forms per household is required.  New forms need to be resubmitted annually to continue participation in the fee reduction program.

The form are also available on the WSD Nutrition Services website wenatcheeschools.org/food-services or may be picked up in person at your student's school or at the Nutrition Services Office (1201 Millerdale Ave).  

My student attends a school that offers free meals for all students, do I still have to apply?
Yes, to qualify for the fee reduction program parents and guardians must submit and eligibility form and consent to share form.

How do I access reduced admission?
Additional information about how to access reduced admission and ticket prices for events will be coming soon. Students and families that qualify for the reduced fee program will be notified of how and when they can begin using this benefit.
