WV Tech Launches New Program Guide: Working Wonders

WV Tech Launches New Program Guide: Working Wonders

Wenatchee Valley Technical Skills Center (WV Tech) has released a new program guide to help promote the free hands-on technical career training opportunities available for area high school juniors and seniors. The program guide was mailed to residents of Wenatchee and Malaga and an electronic guide is available to all on the WV Tech website wenatcheeschools.org/wvtsc

Located in the Olds Station area, WV Tech is a regional hub for career and technical education (CTE) programs that equip students with the personal, workplace, and technical skills employers want in a unique learning environment. WV Tech offers nine specialized programs to choose from; Automotive Technology, Digital Media Arts, Collision Repair Technology, Construction Trades, Cosmetology, Criminal Justice/Police Science, Culinary Arts, Fire Science, and  Videogame Design & Programming. The tech center also offers a popular summer academy and community services through select programs.

WV Tech supports North Central Washington students and the needs of our local economy by providing rigorous and relevant career pathways that engage students in planning for their futures; develop students’ academic, technical, and employability skills; and provide opportunities for work-based learning. Students from Cashmere, Cascade, Eastmont, Entiat, Lake Chelan, Manson, Pateros, Quincy, Waterville, and Wenatchee School Districts may enroll in WV Tech programs. The Wenatchee School District is the host District and runs operations for the tech center.

The learning experience at WV Tech compliments a student’s high school experience. The tech center is an extension of their high school where they remain for half the day allowing them to make and maintain important connections to friends, teachers, and counselors.

WV Tech programs are designed around local, state and national skills standards and meet the new Washington State CTE Graduation Pathway requirements. Students interested in attending the tech center are encouraged to speak with their school guidance counselor for specific information on graduation requirements.
